An Update

Hi, and thanks for stopping by.

It's been a little while since I posted, so I figured an update was probably necessary. I've been having a really busy summer and honestly blogging just hasn't been a top priority (actually, I haven't even been reading quite as much as usual; I'm in a bit of a slump, probably because I haven't found a 5-star read since the beginning of July).

I start my MA in Writing for Young People at the start of October, and I'm hoping I'll have some really interesting insights to share here. I'll also hopefully share my reading list with you guys once I've collected all of the books that I need. That being said, I'm still a little unsure how regularly I'll be able to post once term starts; I'll have to see how the workload is and how much spare time I have to be planning, writing and scheduling posts, as well as being active on social media. I'm hoping I'll still be able to be pretty active, but I highly doubt I'll be keeping up the twice a week schedule I've done for the last week or so.

There isn't much else to say, other than that I hope you're all well and having better reading luck than I am! Let me know some book recommendations in the comments section to get me out of this reading slump.

Till next time (whenever that may be)

A Haul: July 2019

Hi, and thanks for stopping by.

Another tiny book haul for the month of July. I'd love to know what new, or indeed old, releases you've been picking up over the summer - leave a comment down below letting me know.

Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy

Belly has always lived for the summertime because it means all her favorite things: swimming, the beach and the Fisher boys, Conrad and Jeremiah. She has spent every summer with them at Cousins Beach for as long as she can remember. She has always been in love with Conrad and finally, one summer, it seems like he might have feelings for her too. But it turns out, so does Jeremiah.

As the summers go on, Belly has to choose between two brothers who love her as she comes to the realization that she will have to break one of their hearts.

Brigid Kemmerer’s Call It What You Want

When his dad is caught embezzling funds from half the town, Rob goes from popular lacrosse player to social pariah. Even worse, his father’s failed suicide attempt leaves Rob and his mother responsible for his care. Everyone thinks of Maegan as a typical overachiever, but she has a secret of her own after the pressure got to her last year. And when her sister comes home from college pregnant, keeping it from her parents might be more than she can handle. When Rob and Maegan are paired together for a calculus project, they’re both reluctant to let anyone through the walls they’ve built. But when Maegan learns of Rob’s plan to fix the damage caused by his father, it could ruin more than their fragile new friendship...

This month I also did preorder the two new releases from Rainbow Rowell (Pumpkinheads & Wayward Son) which won't be arriving until August/September time).

Till next time
