Hi, and thanks for stopping by.
Today's post is really exciting - I'm going to predict my Top 5 2018 releases! There are so many amazing books due out next year, so narrowing it down has been tricky. Nevertheless, I've managed it!! I hope you're excited about 2018 reads, too - let me know down below!
Jenn bennett’s
starry eyes
Now, as you'll be able to tell from Days 11 and 12 of Blogmas coming up, Jenn Bennett has been one of my favourite writers of 2017, and of all time, too. When I heard about this book, being published in the spring, I believe, I could've cried with a joy a little. I literally will preorder this at the earliest possible opportunity and I'd recommend you do the same!! Also, Jenn is really lovely to interact with on Twitter, and she let me know the other day that she actually has THREE YA novels in the works right now so...let's all try to contain ourselves, okay?!
Victoria aveyard’s
war storm
During 2017, I read books 1, 2 and 3 in Victoria Aveyard's Red Queen series - I had heard incredibly mixed things, and in particular from people whose opinions I really trust and most often agree with, I'd mainly heard negative things. However, I've completely loved the series so far and given all three four stars. I can't wait to find out how the series is going to be wrapped up - I can't imagine how Victoria is going to have given each character a satisfying ending. Particularly when it comes to Maven, I think I'll really struggle to believe in him as a 100% villain at heart in the end, so I hope it's not too simple/one-dimensional of an ending for him.
Morgan matson’s save the date
Morgan Matson has been one of my favourite authors of 2017, so when I realised that she was publishing a new novel in 2018, I was really excited. Save The Date is, as you might imagine, based around a wedding which in my opinion is one of the best, and most underrated, plot-lines ever!! I can barely think of any stories, particularly YA ones for obvious reasons, that focus on weddings, so I'm really excited for this. Morgan's writing tends to be sweet and fun and atmospheric, so I cannot wait to read this novel - hopefully it's just as brilliant as Second Chance Summer, which is my favourite of her books so far.
Meet cute: an
anthology
I really love anthologies as a concept, because they're easy and fairly fast to read (when written well, of course), you discover lots of new, exciting authors and you get to read loads of stories/meet loads of characters within one book. I read Jennifer L. Armentrout's The Problem With Forever this year and LOVED it, so the fact that she's edited Meet Cute is a great sign for me. I also know that Emery Lord has a story in here, and I adore her writing, so I can't wait to read that one, in particular. If I'm not mistaken, this book is due to be published pretty much straight away in the New Year, so I don't have too long to wait now!!
Becky albertalli
& adam silvera’s what if it’s us?
Becky and Adam are both such incredible authors, let me start with that; they write books that are so incredibly funny, moving and perhaps most importantly of all, diverse in representation. They are both two of my favourite authors of 2017, without a doubt. All of that being said, I cannot wait to read their collaboration - a combination of their two writing styles is bound to be completely joyous. I've been following their writing journey via Twitter, which is really encouraging the excitement and they have both been really awesome to interact with. If I had to make a prediction, I think this is the one I'll enjoy the most.
So those are the five predictions I'm making for 2018 releases that I think I'll fall in love with. I also know that Holly Bourne & Louise O'Neill are releasing new books soon, and as they're two of my favourite authors, I'm also eagerly anticipating those titles. And then, of course, as ever, I'm spending my whole life waiting for Jandy Nelson to publish some new YA - as of yet, I don't think that's happening in 2018 - if you know otherwise, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
What are your most anticipated releases of 2018?? Let me know by leaving a comment down below.
Till next time
Katie
I'm totally excited for Meet Cute! JLA is one of my favorites and contemporary is my genre, sooo... I feel like I'm going to love it. I've yet to read anything by Matson - even though I have two of her books sitting on my shelf. Maybe next year! :)

Yay! The one book of her's I have read was a great 5-star read, so I'm really looking forward to reading more from her! Any recommendations? Oo, if you enjoy contemporary, you'll probably love her! Second Chance Summer is my favourite xx
DeleteOh my goodness, Katie, you just said the magic words and don't even realize it. LOL I tend to gush when talking about Jennifer Armentrout and when you ask for recommendations... well, I'll try to reign myself in (and not write a novel). :)
DeleteIf you like YA paranormal, I'd definitely go for the Lux series (5 books) or the Dark Elements series (3 books). If you like NA, her Wait For You series is really good. The books are somewhat interconnected, with recurring characters, but could be read as stand-alones. My favorite is still the first book (Wait For You) with Avery and Cam (swoon!). The Wicked trilogy is a fun NA paranormal series that takes place in New Orleans - and the third book just released last week so you wouldn't have to wait on them. The Problem with Forever is a good YA contemporary.
And I'll stop now before this really does become a novel. LOL

Ha! Those are such great recommendations, I'll definitely have a look at them on goodreads and add any I like the sound of to my TBR!! The Problem With Forever is the one I've read - I loved it. I have ordered a copy of If There's No Tomorrow, so hopefully I'll wrap that up in January! Thank you so much for this comment - it was super helpful and kind of you! X
DeleteI'm looking forward to more Becky Albertalli too, and I'm considering getting Meet Cute. I didn't really enjoy the Morgan Matson book I read, but I do have another on my TBR which I hope yo give a chance in 2018.
