A TBR: September 2017

Hi, and thanks for stopping by.

Today's post is a TBR for this month. I don't usually set specific books to read per month, because I'm definitely more of a mood reader, but these are some books that I particularly want to get to ASAP, either because I've had them for ages or I've just got them and can't wait to get started! Here goes - please let me know if you've read any of these & what you thought by leaving a comment in the comments section down below. Also, please feel free to follow my blog if you enjoyed your visit.

jay asher &Carolyn mackler’s the future of us

Yet somehow, best friends Emma and Josh have discovered their profiles, fifteen years in the future ... and they're not sure they like what they see. The more Emma and Josh learn about their future lives, the more obsessed they become on changing the destiny that awaits them. But what if focusing on the future, means that you miss something that's right in front of you?

adam silvera’s they both die at the end

It's called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure - to live a lifetime in a single day.

chloe seager’s editing emma

When Emma Nash is ghosted by love of her life Leon Naylor, she does what any girl would do - spends the summer avoiding all human contact, surrounded by the Chewit wrappers he left behind. Seeing Leon suddenly `in a relationship' on Facebook, however, spurs Emma into action. She vows to use the internet for good (instead of stalking Leon's social media),chronicling her adventures on her new Editing Emma blog. But life online doesn't always run smoothly. A change is gonna come

Featuring top Young Adult authors and introducing a host of exciting new voices, this anthology of stories and poetry from BAME writers on the theme of change is a long-overdue addition to the YA scene.  Contributors include Tanya Byrne, Inua Ellams, Catherine Johnson, Patrice Lawrence, Ayisha Malik, Irfan Master, Musa Okwonga and Nikesh Shukla. Plus introducing four fresh new voices in YA fiction: Mary Bello, Aisha Bushby, Yasmin Rahman and Phoebe Roy.

Jodi picoult’s small great things

When a newborn baby dies after a routine hospital procedure, there is no doubt about who will be held responsible: the nurse who had been banned from looking after him by his father. What the nurse, her lawyer and the father of the child cannot know is how this death will irrevocably change all of their lives, in ways both expected and not.

victoria aveyard’s red queen

This is a world divided by blood - red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance - Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart . . .

I'm also rereading Harry Potter, starting today! So, I've got lots of great stuff to get through! Look out for my September 2017 Wrap Up post to check out which of these I got to and what I thought of them, and more!

Till next time

Katie
