Blogmas Day 3: Rereading in 2019

Hi, and thanks for stopping by.

Today's Blogmas post is all about setting myself some rereading goals for 2019! I did this last year and I've enjoyed the process of rereading a lot so far in 2018 so I'm hopeful that it will work out well in the coming new year, too! Here are the books I'm hoping to get to again in 2019...

2017 Favourites

After a year's break from them, it's always going to be my reading goal to reread annual favourites, I think. For example in 2018, I got to experience Jandy Nelson's wonderfulness all over again after first discovering her in 2016! And in 2019, I'll get to reread my 2017 favourites - I am literally SO excited to get to these three books. Plus, I'm already excited for 2020 when I can read my 2018 favourites...although the thought of 2020 is kind of terrifying, let's be honest!

Refreshers for Upcoming Sequels

The only reason I didn't put The Map from Here to There by Emery Lord (the sequel to this book) in my 2019 Most Anticipated list is because I'm not 100% sure if it's definitely coming out in 2019?! I haven't seen a cover reveal or anything yet, but please do let me know if you've heard more than I have!! Regardless, I want to reread this first book and refresh my memory of all of the cuteness.

I know this series has had some backlash, but I've absolutely loved my reading experience of it so far! I know that War Storm came out this year, but I'm waiting for its paperback release in 2019 before I read it - I want to make sure I reread the first three just before that though so that I can really enjoy and appreciate War Storm rather than wading through the vague memories of 1, 2 and 3 in my head whilst I read the finale.

A Random Old Read!

I've had this book on my shelf for so long, definitely for a few years before I started reading YA properly again and blogging. I can't really remember any of its details at all, but I want to reread it and rediscover whether or not I like it before I just chuck it in the unhaul pile - you never know, it could be a real gem that's been gathering dust for years and years!!

Some All-Time Favourites

It's been a little while now since I reread this series (two years, I think?!) and I can't wait to get to them again, Anna and the French Kiss in particular. I absolutely love Stephanie Perkin's contemporary novels and after being a little disappointed with her YA thriller, I'm planning to delve back into these three novels whilst I'm waiting for her to publish a brand new contemporary! Fingers crossed that's coming soon!!!

So those are the books I'm planning to reread in 2019!! Do you reread books? Which are you planning to get to in the new year? Let me know by leaving a comment down below.

Till next time

Katie

  1. I've read Night Owls and also the Anna and French Kiss series and loved them both! I hope you enjoy reading them again :) I know lots of people love Red Queen but I have yet to try it myself... I do reread books! I love to do so :)

    1. Ooo, we probably have quite similar taste then! I'd definitely recommend the Red Queen series if you get chance to read it in 2019 :) I'm glad to hear that, I think it's a lot of fun too! Thanks for commenting :) x
